Lancashire United Transport, as well as being a major part of the South Lancashire Public Transport scene, was synonymous with trips to the seaside, especially Blackpool. In the early 1960's its buses as well as coaches were seen lined up in droves of Britain's No.1 seaside resort. It also ran a thriving tours and excursions pro-gramme through a network of travel agents as well as newsagents who booked the tours on a commission basis on the company's behalf. The fleet, as a result, comprised a mixture of service buses, dual purpose vehicles and luxury coaches and the Plaxton Panorama bodied Leyland Leopard formed the mainsty of the fleet in the 60's and well into the 70s.
