EFE 99101 Daimler Fleetline DMS d/deck bus 1:24 scale "London Transport"

Gilbow in conjunction with Drumwell are working with Best Choose to further develop and enhance this model for U.K. collectors. Originally produced depicting the vehicles as modified and used by China Motor Bus Co, the model is now being changed back to a typical London version and these will only be available through Gilbow (Holdings) Ltd.

The first release of our model will be in London Transport livery, available late 2005 onwards, this highly detailed model with working features such as steering, changeable route blinds, sprung suspension, opening doors and exits, makes an imposing centrepiece to any collection.

The DMS was one of the last buses to be specifically designed by London Transport, and was the first purpose built one man operated (omo) double deck bus. The chassis used was the Daimler Fleetline, later to become a Leyland, Fleetline, and they were powered with engines by Gardener, Leyland and Rolls Royce with bodies that were built by Park Royal and MCW. The body was equipped with a periscope to let the driver see into the upper deck and some were originally fitted with split entrance doors to allow exact fare collection via an automatic turnstile, a feature that was short lived and removed. The DMS bus was operated by London Transport between 1971 and 1993 and was also operated by bus companies across Britain and around the World.
