Product Description

The EMD SD-45 was developed during the mid 1960's to fill the need for a high horsepower locomotive. It produced 3600 horsepower using 20 cylinders, and could move a long heavy train at high speed. Many of these lcoomotives are still in use, after much rebuilding, 35 years later. This unit has the following features:
