0-6-0ST Manning Wardle L Class Profile and Models

Manning Wardle & Co built a number of small 0-6-0ST locomotives. One example was the L Class, which was primarily built for engineering use and other industrial railways. They were built over a 45 year period starting in the early 1880s. Early versions featured a primitive open cab with a simple weather shield, whilst later examples featured a fully enclosed cab. At least four are preserved with some operational on heritage railways in the UK and one more on static display in Japan. |
