The K Class was one of the Manning Wardle companies few but distinctive saddle tank locomotive designs. A number of these dimuinutive locomotives were built for private contractors for the use of railway construction projects as well as for other industrial purposes. Amazingly, some of these locos were still in use as late as the 1950s. One is preserved at the Bluebell Railway. |
