The KFA intermodal wagons were produced in the late 1980s for Tiphook Rail. Originally referred to as PFAs under the TOPS system, they were designed to carry contaminated spoil, moving onto further duties such as refuse, paper, gypsum, military traffic and intermodal services over the years. Some are also used by Network Rail for engineering duties.
