Final condition with further modifications to improve ventilation, most notably at the No.2 end where there are additional grilles and vent boxes.
In this condition it worked on the LMR, often from Birmingham/Rugby on local goods, station pilot and secondary passenger work, before being withdrawn in 1959 and eventually sold to Brush.
