Originally intended for heavy freight these powerful locomotives, with their tractive effort of 32,440 lbs, were not necessarily treated to the regular cleaning that was afforded to some of Stainer's more premier passenger locos. It would therefore be uncommon to see a sparkling example unless it has been outshopped that day! Therefore this model has the real appearance more typical of the prototype. A 5 pole motor is located in the Super Detail locomotive body.
