Loco drive Curved track: Hornby 2nd radius + (438mm +) Designer: Sir William Stanier Entered Service: 1944 Number Built: 68 Purpose: Heavy long distance freight Suitable rolling stock: General freight stock of the LNER period The design and function of Stanier's 8F locomotives was so successful that even the LNER ordered sixty eight. These locomotives, classified by the LNER as Class 06, were built at the Southern Railway Brighton Works as well as at the LNER's own workshops. LNER 7675 was the last of 25 built at the Brighton Works and was later renumbered in 1946 as 3124 and subsequently in 1947 became number 3524. Manufactured to Hornby Super Detail standard 5-pole motor located in locomotive. Suitable for use on Hornby second radius curved track (438mm) or greater.
