Streamlined Coronation Class 4-6-2 "Coronation" 6220 LMS Blue
Motor fitted but no DCC socket. Ringfield motor
The first of its class (built June 1937) and William Staniers response to the Kings of the GWR and the A4's of the LNER. The first five of these locomotives were specially liveried in blue and were used to haul the prestigious express Coronation Scot train from London to Glasgow. The Hornby model, resplendent in its livery of blue, fairly sparkles with detail and, with the power generated by the 5 pole motor situated in the loco body, can easily handle a rake of the blue Coronation coaches.
