At almost 12 metres long and seating 90 people, the East Lancs bodied Dennis Tridents in the Blackburn Borough Transport fleet are some of the biggest buses on two axles on the roads of Great Britain. When it came to producing double decker buses for its home town, East Lancs Coachbuilders were the natural choice for the municipal fleet. Blackburn Transport was only too happy to agree to commemorate 70 years of acheivement by adorning its first new double decker bus for many years with adverts celebrating this milestone for ELC. The Blackburn buses feature a special electronically controlled gateway at the foot of the stairs enabling the top deck to be closed at quet periods and open when busy.
