Optare Solo s/deck bus "Stagecoach Northwest"
Stagecoach in Lancashire and its predecessors have been operating quality bus routes in Lancashire for over 80 years, with a current fleet in excess of 300 vehicles. In November 2001, 9 new state-of-the-art, branded Optare Solo midi-buses, worth -ú576,000, were introduced to the North West, to operate on Routes 169 and F4, in the Fylde and Wyre, replacing high floor Mercedes minibuses. Heralding a new era in small bus design, the Solo brings big bus technology and unrivalled accessibility to the small bus sector with it's design features. The Solo was named because it's step is 'so low' and is the first bus to receive the Queen's Award for Innovation. The F4 route operates a 30 minute daytime service, from Monday to Saturday, from Fleetwood to Poulton, via Cleveleys and Thornton.
