Bristol Lodekka FS6G H33/27RD, fleet number 712 was registered on 14th November 1966, initially assigned to Stony Stratford garage. This vehicle was amongst the last FS models to be purchased new by United Counties and only this last batch contained Gardner engines, all previous deliveries having Bristol engines. United Counties went on to favour the larger Bristol FLF in subsequent purchases. Bristol chassis were manufactured in sanctions for each type and series, Sanction 230 was the last of the FS type and 712 represents one of the last FS vehicles to be produced. Stony Stratford depot was later absorbed into Milton Keynes and 712 was then allocated to Luton, spending the rest of its service life there until 1981. This vehicle was then purchasd for preservation by 712 Preservation Group who rallied it continously over the next 20 years.
