Leyland Lynx Mk1 s/deck bus "London & Country"
The Leyland Lynx was introduced in 1986 as an integral construction, low floor single deck bus seating 51 passengers in its standard form. After the National, the Lynx was the final Leyland bus design to come into production and was built at the Lilyhill plant in Cumbria. By 1990 the Lynx was the single dack market leader although numbers were small compared with the heady days of NBC. The MkII was introduced in 1990 with revised suspension an a new gearbox, but desptite these changes the Lynx was only produced until 1993 with a total of 1058 built. Very few of the type were seen in the London area. 312 (G312 DPA) was the first of five Gardner-engined models delivered to London & Country in January 1990 to run in comparative trails with Dennis Falcons. All five were transferred to London Links in 1995.
