Product Description

The family-run bulk haulier and coal merchant M. Way & Son Transport are situated at two sites in North Devon. With a fleet of seventy lorries the company provides a variety of bulk haulage services across the UK. M. Way and Sons was founded in 1973 by Merv Way with a second-hand Dodge 500 flatbed lorry, which he bought from John Evans of Evans Transport. Initially the company was run from the family home in South Molton with wife Helen looking after the accounts. Over the next few years the company began to grow resulting in the purchase of an AEC Mercury flatbed and tractor unit to allow for the transportation of bulk orders of coal. By 1985 the business had expanded to nine vehicles which were typically loaded with Devon sand to be delivered to the Midlands and returned with coal from Nottinghamshire coal fields. This still continues today. In 1986 MervGÇÖs son Nick left school and eagerly joined the company with his sister Karen following soon after. Over the years the company and its fleet has steadily increased with the types of vehicles broadening to include Seddon Atkinsons, Volvos, DAFs and Moving Floor Trailers. The fleetGÇÖs GÇÿVauxhall CargoGÇÖ orange livery is a familiar site within the South Molton area and across the UK.
