Decertificated by Corgi, no Limited Edition certificate

Organised on February 1, 1963 at Kincheloe AFB, Michigan where it replaced the 4239th Strategic Wing. The 449th supported SAC combat operations in southeast Asia with KC-135 tanker aircraft and crews from November 1965 to December 1975 and B-52 crews from May 1965 to June 1968. Responsible for phasing down Kincheloe AFB for closure, July to September 1977. 60-0049 was built by Boeing at Wichita, Kansas, and delivered to the USAF in 1960. It was one of three B-52s that visited the UK in March 1967 and participated in the SAC Bombing Competition at RAF Marham, Norfolk.
