The Escort's nimble handling and simple reliable components made it ideal for Police work. PMW 262H served with the Wiltshire Police from 1970 as a rural area Panda car. They were the only Police Force in Britain to have this unusual tan and mustard colour scheme, which was eventually phased out because of its prohibitive cost.
