Air Vice Marshal James Edgar "Johnnie" Johnson CB, CBE, DSO and two Bars, DFC and Bar (9 March 1915GÇô30 January 2001) was an RAF pilot who during World War II shot down 38 Luftwaffe aircraft, thus becoming the British flying ace with the most "kills" during the war. While flying MK392 he was credited with the destruction of 12 aircraft (all FW190s and Bf109s) 1 shared destroyed on the ground (Ju88) and one damaged. This aircraft is also famous as the last in which he scored a kill on 27th September 1944.
