Archers Transport was founded in 1972 by Paul Archer. He began with an 8 wheel Foden tipper moving aggregates from his base in Tamworth. During the 1980s the fleet changed, and Archers grew into low loaders, transporting forklifts nationwide and buying Kerbaide trailers enabling low loader manufacture. Archers today, is still committed to forklift transport but additionally completes heavy haulage up to 150 tonnes for power stations and industry. The fleet has also changed with a move from Foden/ERF to Scania vehicles; each with the distinctive personalised number plates and individual names.
