Bachmann China CS00203 Class SY 2-8-2 #0540

Class SY, used on branch lines and in manufactories and mines, was manufacturered in 1960 in Dalian and Tangshan Locomotive Works by improving the design of Class MIKADO 6. Steam locomotives of this class have been in service and production for the longest period of time compared with those employed by manufactories and mines because of its more advanced performance. It was solely manufactured by Tangshan Locomotive Works where the first Class SY was trial-manufactured and by 1996 when the production of it was cancelled, 1765 had been produced. The axle arrangement is 1-4-1. The length of the locomotive and tender falls into two types: 21,643 mm and 21,519 mm . The locomotive empty weight is 75.5 tons and wheel rim power is 1,103.25 kilowatts. The construction speed is 80km per hour.
