Product Description

Fleet No: 11 Route No: - This bus was ordered by Ramsbottom but delivered to the new Selnec PTE a few days after its formation in November 1969, carrying full Ramsbottom colours. TTD 386H, Fleet number 11 does not look very special but it has a unique place in history as the very last traditional style bus to enter service in this country. The swing to rear engines begun by the Leyland Atlantean in 1958 was now complete, and 11 was the last of nearly 20,000 Titans built from 1927 and the last of countless buses of this type. In fact it is believed that 11 was made up from parts lying around at the Leyland factory after the production line had been dismantled. After work in Ramsbottom, Bury and finally Wigan, 11 was retired straight to the Museum of Transport in Manchester.
