Warley Exhibition 2018 - Roundup
Hattons attended the 51st annual Warley exhibition on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th November 2018 at the NEC, Birmingham. Our biggest ever stand was at the show, which showcased a number of our Hattons Originals project samples, both on static display and running on our purpose-built test track; a display of our innovative new "Layout on a Door" concept and of course a full-size Beilhack plough blade which was lovingly reapinted into the notorious "Stratford Shark" livery by our team - a sight that both delighted and surprised many visitors to the show!
This year's exhibition was one of the biggest ever, with 90 layouts, over 150 trade stands and a wide array of full size centerpiece locomotives, rolling stock and road vehicles on display. As ever, the event was exceptionally well attended and we very much enjoyed meeting hundreds of people over the weekend. A big thank you goes out to everyone who came to see us and to those who took part in our #HattonsShark photo competition.
Hattons Originals products could be found throughout the exhibition. Visitors will have spotted our Rail Head Treatment Train running on 'New Bryford', our Colas Rail liveried Class 66 on Hornby Magazine's brand new 'West Coast Cement' layout and the first EP of our O gauge Class A4 paid a visit to the Bretherdale TMD layout. Our models were also available to purchase from several retailers at the show, showcasing our new Wholesale arm to the public for the first time.

We had a little... well, a rather big surprise on our stand this year - the Hattons shark! Network Rail very kindly allowed us to borrow a spare Beilhack snowplough blade, whch we then lovingly repainted into the striking "Stratford Shark" livery which was applied to one of the ploughs briefly in the 1980s. Visitors could have their photo taken with the plough and enter into a competition to win their very own model - congratulations to those who won.
