How Pre-Orders Work at Hattons
Have confidence when placing your pre-order at Hattons Model Railways.
Our website offers the facility to place a pre-order for items announced for release in the future, or for items where we are awaiting a restock from the manufacturer. This enables you to have your order processed first once the stock arrives at Hattons and is ready for despatch.
The Pre-Order Process
1) Click the 'Pre-order' button on any product that we have 'On Order'. You cannot pre-order an item that has already arrived into stock.
2) Our system automatically removes the ability to pre-order an item once the manufacturer's maximum order threshold has been reached.
3) Once the item arrives in stock at Hattons, we process any pre-orders first. You must ensure that your payment details are kept up-to-date to ensure that we can process your order automatically. We will attempt to contact you if we cannot take payment and if we do not get a response the item will go back on to general sale.
Guaranteed Pre-Order Deadlines
Certain manufacturers advertise a specific deadline for Hattons to place their trade order, this is because these items are made strictly to order and are unlikely going to be available for us to re-order in the future. We will advertise the date by which you need to place your pre-order in advance. Once the pre-order deadline has passed, these items will still be available to pre-order, however, we cannot guarantee that any placed after the deadline date will be fulfilled.
Can I use PayPal to pay for a pre-order?
Unfortunately you cannot use PayPal for a pre-order, only in-stock items.
Does pre-ordering reserve my item?
Pre-ordering does not guarantee that your item is reserved, only that we will automatically attempt to take payment when your order arrives in stock. It is advisable to check your payment methods are up to date before items arrive in stock.
Can I use the Trunk Service for my Pre-orders?
Yes you can! Any pre-orders can be sent straight to your Trunk when they arrive. Find out more about the Trunk →
