Hornby Terrier Digital Fitting Guide
Before DCC fitting your Terrier, you must first remove the body. If you have not already done that, click here to find out how.
Once you have removed the body from your Terrier, here's how to fit the DCC chip:
Step 1: Blanking Plate Removal
Remove the 6-pin blanking plug from the chassis. Hold the PCB board with your other hand so that it remains secure.
Step 2: Fitting the Decoder
Now plug your decoder into the slot where you found the blanking plug. The decoder should have a white mark on one side, ensure this is facing upwards when plugging it in.
At this point, we suggest testing the locomotive on DCC to make sure it is working properly.
Step 3: Securing the Decoder
Once you are satisfied with the running of your locomotive, secure the decoder above the socket. You may want to use a small piece of blue tack to keep it in place.
Step 4: Body and Chassis Reassembly
Finally, reattach the body, screw it back on, and replace the coupling socket. Again, be sure to keep an eye on the sand pipes to avoid damaging them.
Congratulations! Your DCC fitted Terrier is now ready to use!
