A total of three 2-6-2T locomotives were constructed by Manning Wardle & Co for the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in the late 1890s. Named after local rivers (Yeo, Exe & Taw), a fourth 2-6-2T was built in 1925, with an updated design. Many years later, a replica 2-6-2 named "Lyd" was built at the Ffestiniog Railway and first steamed in 2010.
