Stephenson's Rocket is an early steam locomotive with an 0-2-2 wheel arrangement. This iconic design was built for and won the Rainhill Trials of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway and incorporated many innovations to make it the most advanced locomotive of its time. The loco was modified extensively throughout its life and was eventually preserved as a static exhibit in the London Science Museum. (Information provided via Wikipedia) |
