This past weekend saw the annual Warley Exhibition, held at the Birmingham NEC.
There were 90 layouts on display as well as a huge range of manufacturers, suppliers, demonstrators and societies.

Hornby introduced us to the first selection of new items to be included in their 2017 catalogue.
For the first time this will include the details required to model both Ivatt-built locomotives (46256 and 46257).

The next announcement was another West Coast express loco in the form of the Class 87 electric.
Hornby have confirmed that they will cater for all variations in detail throughout the career of the locos within the UK.

The third tooling announcement brings us right in to the present day with the launch of the Class 800 IEP, currently being built and introduced across the whole of the UK.
Initial releases will include a 5-car set in the current Great Western Railway livery as well as a two-car Limited Edition version in the Hitachi Test livery.

Further items announced included an all-new GWR 'Toad' AA15 brake van in two liveries alongside several other existing models in new guises.
A full catalogue of 2017 items will be announced in January with additional releases to add to this already exciting list.

Bachmann did not have any new announcements to make at Warley 2016, they did however have some samples to show the latest stage of some of their previously announced projects, including:

Oxford Rail had a variety of updates for their Rail and Diecast ranges. We will be focussing on the Rail side of things at the moment.

Also on display were the EP samples of the upcoming Mk3a coaches which are well in to development.
Heljan had a variety of samples on show that had previously been seen as well as two cabinets of items that were showing new developments. These included:

Also on display were a variety of other samples such as: A & B 4-wheel tank wagon, O Gauge Class 128 DPU, O Gauge Centre Headcode Class 37, Class 1361 and 1366.
