Class 5MT 'Black Five' 4-6-0 5055 in LMS black
DCC compatible but no socket
The mixed traffic, medium powered 'Black Five' 4-6-0's were designed by Sir william Stanier for the LMS and were arguably the most successful locomotives of their type ever built. Some 842 were built over three decades, the first moving to traffic in 1934. This totally new model boasts an abundance of body detail capturing the whole essance and workmanlike apperance of the prototype. The 5-pole motor located in the locomotive and the incorporation of power pickups on all driving and tender wheels, ensures a smooth running and powerful operation. DCC compatible
