This Royal Wessex service commenced on 3 May 1951 and was withdrawn at the end of 1967. 'The Royal Wessex' operated from London, Waterloo to Bournemouth, Swanage and Weymouth and was made up of BR Mk1 coaches livried in the striking BR Southern green of the period from 1957.
This Hornby Great British Train pack is representative of 'The Royal Wessex' as it would have been seen in the summer of 1957 some ten years before the service was removed from the British Railways timetable. This pack is limited to 1500.
