Patriot class 5XP 4-6-2 "Caernarvon" 45515 in BR Green with late crest
Motor fitted but no DCC socket. Ringfield motor
The Patriots as introduced during Henry Fowler's time, were officially rebuilds of the earlier LNWR 'Cloughton' class after which the locomotive 'Patriot' was named as a named as a memorial of the 1914-1918 war, with many of the class remaining in service to the end of the BR steam era. The excellent Hornby model represented in BR green has the distinctive tender of the class housing the ringfield motor. The tender includes separate coal rails while the locomotive incorporates separately fitted blackened handrails and wheels
