The Class 29 engines, built in Glasgow in 1959 by the North British Loco Company, were amongst the earlier types of mainline diesels to go into service. These engines spent most of their working lives in their homeland where many of them were re-engined in later days to improve their performance. Certainly a model to have on a 'pre-blue' period layout. Powered by a ringfield motor.
