Corgi VA10309 Ford Cortina MkIII 1.6 GXL Flame Red

The coke bottle shaped US influenced MkIII Cortina of 1970 had a great deal to live up to as both the MkI and MkII variants had sold over a million units. Unusually it was a completely new car and was launched with a new range of engines, the SOHC GÇÿPintoGÇÖ family. Its wheelbase was 101.5 inches, 3.5 inches longer than the MkI and MkII but the carGÇÖs overall length remained the same as both previous models at 168 inches; width had increased from 62.6 inches to 67inches. The glamorous twin headlight GXL modelled here was the top of the range and came equipped with Rostyle wheels and a vinyl roof.
