Hawker Siddeley Brush "Kestrel" prototype diesel electric loco
BARGAIN
'KESTREL' was a private venture by Brush, a division of Hawker Siddeley, and upon completion in 1967 was the worlds most powerful Sulzer loco @ 4000hp. By mid 1969 its bogies were exchanged for Class 47 examples and the weight reduction this gave enabled the loco to undertake passenger duties between Kings Cross & Newcastle. 'KESTREL' was withdrawn from service and shipped to Russia to attend an exhibition in July 1971. She was never to return, ending her days as a test bed, eventually being scrapped in the early 1990's. |

Class 37/4 diesel electric 37421 "Strombidae" in Railfreight Petroleum sub-sector livery
BARGAIN
Converted for a passenger role, the Class 37/4 sub-class saw increasing use by the freight sector during the 1990s, following the introduction of 'Sprinter' units on many secondary routes. As one would expect, the new owners were keen to display their mark as shown by this representation of No. 37421. The Immingham-based machine features the Petroleum sub-sector's 'wavy line' logo and 'Shell' nameplates transfered from a Class 47. |

Listing and advertising policy
General policy
- This website only lists UK-outline models and country-unspecific (i.e. track) products which we have in stock (accurate to the past
12 hours). We never intentionally list items on our site, which are not in
stock. Please bear this in mind when you see all sorts of goodies in other
traders' adverts or websites as they often do not have this policy.
- If an item is not listed on this site, then it is not available for purchase
and immediate despatch at this time.
- Our website at www.ehattons.com displays stock-level information on all
products (accurate to the past 12 hours). This site lists all of our available products, including models of non-UK prototypes.
New Products & "Advance" orders
We are unable to supply accurate information regarding the expected
delivery date of soon-to-be-released products. We are one of the largest model railway & model road vehicle
retailers in the country - and so are always amongst, if not, the first to
receive delivery of brand new releases.
We allow you to place pre-orders for many items - all these listed at our ehattons.com Forthcoming Releases page. We also allow the opportunity to sign up for a "Delivery notification" email, which will be sent when the item arrives into stock, but this doesn't create an obligation to order.
New items appear on our websites at least within a day (often minutes!) of delivery, and in our magazine
advertisements after 3 to 7 weeks.
This site is updated continuously, and reflects current availabilty and prices
